Profits of Irbid District Electricity in the first half of 2014 declined by 21.8% to JOD 1.45 million compared to JOD 1.85 million in the same period of 2013.

Earnings per share declined to JOD 0.181 this year compared to JOD 0.232 in the first half of the last year.

High cost of buying energy helped in the profits decline. Costs of buying energy rose by 32.4% to JOD 89.4 million compared to JOD 67.5 million in the first half of the last year.

Sales increased by 28.8% to JOD 100.4 million from JOD 77.9 million in the same period of the last year.

During the second quarter of the current year, the company’s profits increased by 144% to JOD 1.7 million against JOD 714.7 thousand in the same period of the last year.
