Wataniya Mobile recorded 643,000 subscribers by September 30, 2014, against 638,000 subscribers in the same period of 2013. Average revenue per user (ARPU) dropped to $8.9 by the end of the third quarter of 2014, compared to $9.7 in the corresponding period last year. The decrease is due to two main reasons; a rise in the proportion of prepaid subscribers of the total subscribers as well as the situation of the economy. As a result, revenue reached $64.9 million by the end of the third quarter of 2014, compared to $66.4 million.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased to record $10.1 million at the end of the third quarter of 2014 compared to $5.9 million during the same period last year, gaining 71%.
After the deduction of interest, depreciation and amortization, net loss at the end of the third quarter of has reached $10.7 million compared to $17.5 million for the same period last year, recording an improvement by 39%.
