Top indices in the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) ended Tuesday in the green as the price index rose by 0.64%, adding 45.7 points and closing at 7178.64 points. Meanwhile the weighted price index added 0.77% or 3.6 points and closed at 476.66 points. The Kuwait 15 index ended the session at a 0.8% gain, adding 9.2 points to 1155.34 points.
Around 147.45 million shares traded today through 3516 transactions worth KWD 14.28 million against 127 million shares traded through 3300 transactions worth KWD 16.86 million, registering a decline by 15.3%.
Gulf Finance House (GFH) topped the most active stocks today, as around 32.7 million shares were traded through 325 transactions at a turnover of KWD 1.06m million. The share gained 4.76%.
Meanwhile, Burgan Bank recorded the most active trade value, achieving 106 transactions worth KWD 2.94 million as 5.7 million shares were exchanged. The stock gained 1.96%.
Hilal Cement Company topped gainers, soaring by 7.5%, whereas Contracting and Marine Services led decliners, dropping 7.7%.
Technical analyst Hamoud Al Azmy had commented during the mid-trades, noting that the positive financials for several companies added to the rebounding of Gulf markets on Monday have positively impacted the Kuwaiti market.
The Kuwaiti index is expected to target the level of 7250 points, he told Mubasher.
