Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) announced on Tuesday signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Qatar University to discuss a joint cooperation in water desalination and related technologies.
This cooperation will develop the base of the water technology network, training programmes, and promotion and facilitation of research and creativity in the water sector, according to a filing to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) on Tuesday.
This agreement will support the Qatar Vision 2030, Qatari minister of energy and industry Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada said, according to the statement.
QEWC had previously reported a growth of 2.7% in profits reaching QAR 1.542 billion in 2016, compared to QAR 1.501 billion in 2015.
QEWC’s stock last dropped 1.43% at QAR 213.69.
