Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The financial statements of Al Wathba National Insurance Company (AWNIC) showed an increase in net profits by 21% year-on-year during the second quarter of 2017, according to a bourse filing.

The company said in a statement to the Abu Securities Exchange (ADX) on Tuesday that profits reached AED 29.8 million in Q2-17 compared to AED 24.53 million for the same period last year.

As for the first half of the year, semi-annual profits declined by 25% to AED 43.9 million, down from AED 58.71 million in H1-16, the statement noted.
