Mubasher: Barwa Real Estate on Wednesday announced that its board intends to increase the non-Qatari ownership limit to 49% from its current 25%.

The decision came after the CEO of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) Rashid Al Mansoori called on all the QSE-listed firms to increase non-Qatari share ownership to 49%.

Barwa Real Estate will adhere to all laws and regulations in the matter and its board's decision is subject to the approval of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, it said in a statement to the QSE.

This decision is part of efforts to achieve the QSE's vision, Barwa added.

Barwa’s stock rose 1.11% to QAR 36.67 at Wednesday's close on the QSE.
