Cairo – Mubasher: Misr Fertilizers Production Co (Mopco) on Monday reported a 44.4% year-on-year increase in standalone profits for 2018.

Net profit amounted of EGP 1.48 billion in the 12-month period ended December 2018, versus EGP 1.02 billion in 2017, according to a filing to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX).

Sales rose to EGP 2.6 billion last year from EGP 2.44 billion a year earlier, the company said.

In October, Mopco posted a 44.6% year-on-year rise in standalone profits for the first nine months of 2018, recording a net profit of EGP 937.63 million, versus EGP 646.89 million in the prior-year period.

Sales grew slightly to EGP 1.85 billion at the end of September, versus EGP 1.78 billion in the year-ago period.
