Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Aldar Properties has set a AED 500 million redevelopment plan for Yas Mall to strengthen its position and enhance its retail experience.

The plan will enable Aldar Investment to repurpose 40% of the gross leasable area to offer high-impact experiential retail, F&B, and co-working office spaces, according to a press release on Monday.

To be completed in phases over 12-18 months with works commencing in March 2021, the redevelopment will introduce a total of 15,000 sqm of office space to Yas Mall, including the recently launched Cloud Spaces.

The changes will also reduce Yas Mall’s carbon footprint by 59 tonnes per year and enhance its recycling rate from 30% to 40%.

The CEO of Aldar Investment, Jassem Busaibe, said: "Our transformational plan for the mall is in anticipation of evolving customer needs and in line with developing retail trends globally."

Busaibe added: "This redevelopment is perfectly aligned with Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision to reinforce the capital’s position as a favourable destination for business, tourism, and living."
