Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Yahsat Government Solutions (YGS), the government arm of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), has won an AED 24 million contract by Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) to offer satellite communication services.

Under the contract, Yahsat will design and provide the satellite communication systems in vessels manufactured by ADSB, according to a press release on Thursday.

The systems will benefit from YGS’ terminal over Yahsat’s satellite network, suitable for naval satellite communications.

The Group CEO at Yahsat, Ali Al Hashemi, said: "Furthermore, this collaboration is another key step towards advancing the nation’s long-term industrialisation strategy and serves as a testament to the leading role Yahsat is playing in building the UAE’s satellite communication and manufacturing capabilities, strengthening its position as a global hub for space science and technology."
