Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) received a letter of award from its shareholder, EDGE Group, for the supply of Falaj3-class 62-metre Missile Boats to the Kuwait Naval Forces.

The contract’s value stands at AED 7 billion, according to a press release.

EDGE will be the main contractor to the Kuwait Ministry of Defense, handling the overall delivery of the program, including the provision of the full range of munitions.

Meanwhile, ADSB will be responsible for all platform design, build, procurement, combat systems integration, training, integrated logistic support, in-service support and spares.

The Falaj 3-class was chosen in 2021 by the UAE Navy under an AED 3.50 billion program, with ADSB as the prime contractor to build four vessels at its Musaffah shipyard in partnership with ST Engineering Marine.

The first vessel was commissioned into UAE service at NAVDEX in February 2025, while the remaining three vessels are under construction.

Khaled Al Zaabi, ADSB’s Chairman, said: “This award is a very significant milestone in the strategic growth of ADSB, taking our order book to approximately AED 15 billion – the highest level in the company’s 30-year history.”

“We are particularly proud that 75% of the order book is export business, furthering reinforcing ADSB’s value and position as a strategic national asset,” Al Zaabi highlighted.
