Cairo - Mubasher: MENA-focused deep tech firm Intella has raised $12.50 million in an oversubscribed Series A round led by Prosus, according to a press release.

The round witnessed participation from 500 Global, Wa’ed Ventures, Hala Ventures, Idrisi Ventures, and HearstLab.

The funding will be used to accelerate the company’s research and development (R&D), fuel regional expansion, and scale its AI solutions across the Arabic-speaking world.

Omar Mansour, Co-founder and CTO of Intella, commented: “This round is a catalyst for our product roadmap. Our models already set the benchmark for Arabic accuracy.”

“Now, we’re focused on building truly intelligent, Arabic-first conversational agents capable of multi-turn dialogue and contextual understanding, redefining how enterprises engage with their customers,” he continued.

For his part, Robin Voogd, Head of Middle East Investments, Prosus Ventures, stated: “The market opportunity in MENA is enormous, with over 7,500 companies and organisations operating across the region and Arabic being the fifth most spoken language globally.”

On the other hand, Intella has recently debuted Ziila, its Arabic-born digital human, in partnership with Jumia, Africa’s largest e-commerce platform. Ziila powers a voice-ordering feature that navigates complex dialects in real-world environments.

Intella’s revenue more than doubled in 2024 and is on track for sevenfold growth in 2025. With this Series A round, the company has raised over $16.90 million in total funding.
