Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: O2, the mobile operator in Slovakia and part of the e& PPF Telecom Group, signed a binding agreement with Liberty Global to take over UPC Broadband Slovakia (UPC Slovakia) for of EUR 95 million on a cash-free, debt-free basis.

UPC Slovakia is a leading broadband operator serving around 170,000 customers, generating around EUR 47 million in annual revenue, according to a press release.

Its network covers around 647,000 homes across 80 cities, supported by a well-established and high-quality HFC infrastructure. These assets will provide O2 Slovakia with a nationwide fixed broadband footprint.

The acquisition is strategic for O2 Slovakia as the Slovak telecom market continues to evolve toward fixed–mobile convergence.

The integration will bolster e& PPF Telecom group’s competitive positioning as it broadens its service capabilities, enables addressing customer needs more comprehensively, and accelerates its growth trajectory.

Meanwhile, the EUR 95 million consideration is subject to customary closing adjustments and will be financed through a mix of cash and debt at the e& PPF Telecom level.

Following the transaction, UPC Slovakia’s financials will be consolidated into e& PPF Telecom’s financials.

At the end of September 2025, e& recorded 39.70% higher net profits attributable to the owners at AED 11.81 billion.
